The harvester This is the harvester at work in one of the many pumpkin fields. Its design, utilising multiple conveyors, allows the pumpkins to be thoroughly washed before they leave the field. The pumpkins are loaded at the front and pass under the driver's cab, as shown here.
Harvesting has been greatly simplified through the use of a central conveyor to move the pumpkins directly from the field into the washer. Workers in the field
The washer on the harvester On the left is the washer on the back of the harvester. The pumpkins are washed from all angles, making sure that they are clean by the time they are put into crates.
The washer can handle large volumes of pumpkins, which is especially useful on wet days, when most are covered in mud. The washer
